Building our Sixth Form Centre

Construction of our Sixth Form Centre is about to be handed-over.  This section of our website is dedicated to showing you the exciting progress being made!  We have been following the building contractor every step of the way as our new Centre comes together ready for opening in September.

Currently...
Our new Centre is now complete!

The final stages of getting our Centre ready for opening in September have been taking place!  Our IT Support Team has been installing computers, telephones and printers in the building.  Larger colour machines will be delivered next week.

Toilet paper and soap dispensers have been fitted in toilet areas and the building has been thoroughly cleaned ready to welcome students.

With the new Centre complete, all that remains is for the school site to be returned to its former condition.

New pathways have been installed across the site to make travelling between buildings easier, without having to walk on the grass.  Grassed areas are being reinstated and tarmac areas behind the new Centre and the Bushey Building are being resurfaced.

A small amount of work will continue behind the new Centre over the next few weeks as the final aspect of the electrical supply is finalised.  However, this does not affect occupation or usage of the building in any way.

Formal handover of the building, including demonstration of the building's systems and services, will take place at the end of August.

Our new Centre...
Our new building consists of a number of teaching rooms, complete with interactive whiteboards, an ICT room, a fully-equipped Performing Arts studio, a Sixth Form Common Room, a Learning Resources/quiet study area, tutorial rooms for one-to-one sessions, offices for the Head of Sixth Form and Administrative support and other facilities such as toilets.

The new building is fully accessible, including ramped access to the building, a lift for wheelchair access to the 1st floor and accessible toilet provision.

The building is only available to Sixth Form students who gain access to the Centre using their student ID badge.
